I recently had my first 3D Mammogram last month. This ignited an interest in keeping my breasts healthy.
While sharing with my parents that I had my 3D mammogram, my mom mentioned she had just heard of this smoothie recipe created by Dr. Funk, Angelina Jolie’s doctor.
This loaded smoothie recipe comes from Dr. Funk’s new book, BREASTS, The Owner’s Manual
I am sharing this with you today since we all need to be concerned with our breast health and I care about you. It does not matter if we are female or male, we were all born with them.
Some are just larger than others!
1 1/2 cups Almond or Soy Milk. (I recently heard that no more than 2-3 oz Soy Milk per/day for it to be medicinal in quality)
1 TBSP Amla (I found this in tablet form at the Natural Grocers)
1/4 TSP Turmeric/Curcumin powder OR 1/4 ” fresh Turmeric Root
1/4 TSP Black Pepper (activates Turmeric/Curcumin)
1 TBSP Flaxseed. (Omega 3 Fatty Acids and it pulls estrogenic toxins out of the body)
1/4 Cup Inner Fillet Aloe Vera Gel. (Gel. Not juice or water, only Inner Filet)
2 OZ Brewed Green Tea OR 1 TSP Matcha Powder or cut a bag of Green Tea open and empty contents
1 TSP Cinnamon
1 Dried Date
1 Small Frozen Banana
2 PACKED CUPS of dark leafy greens like spinach, kale or collard greens.
2 CUPS BERRIES like Raspberries, Blueberries, Blackberries, Boysenberries, Strawberries. Use frozen to make it frothier. Can break the routine by using peach, pear, mango.
1) Combine all ingredients in a 500-watt high-quality blender to mash through frozen antioxidants and mix all the flavors.
2) If you can, drink over 20 minutes through a straw to avoid tooth enamel damage.
3) Do a simple water rinse for your teeth – NO brushing for an hour.
To mix things up, you can add vanilla, fresh mint leaves, fresh basil leaves, lime juice, lemon juice, fresh ginger root, cayenne pepper, 1-2 drops clove oil.
ALT: Use 1 cup berries + 1 Cup less expensive fruit such as sliced apples or oranges.
